The Terra Firma Mineral Admixture is a volcanic ash based admixture that has been enhanced to perform in concrete on par and even better than silica fume. The below points are just a few of the many enhancements added when using the Terra Firma Mineral Admixture:
* Eliminates the need for toxic lime
* Reduces Micro-cracking
* Increases adhesion
* Reduces creeps and cracks
* Reduces or eliminates efflorescence
* Increases workability and spreadability
* Reduces expansion and heat of hydration
* Most of all it is Non-Toxic for installers
The Terra Firma Mineral Admixture is able to replace up to 40% of the cement used in a concrete mix and 100% of the lime used. Since cement manufacturing creates 7% of ALL CO2 emmisions you will be able to make up to a 40% dent in the CO2 output of Cement manufacturing.
The Terra Firma Mineral Admixture has the following Green Building Material characteristics:
* Sufficient, predictable strength, durability, or stability
* Resistance to moisture, decay, or biocontamination
* Non-toxic or non-hazardous to occupants and installers
* Comparable cost (labor + materials + equipment + other) to traditional materials
* Able to be installed efficiently and effectively
* It does not negatively impact natural ecosystems:
* Sustainably produced
* Non-toxic and non-accumulative
* Has already “sunk” its ecological costs
* Does not require damaging maintenance, operation, or disposal practices
* Waste resulting from the material can be either recovered or bioassimilated
