TEXASI am ~ 3 years away from retirement and looking at purchasing some land along a river, SW of Fredericksburg, Texas. I will be facing new construction within the next few years and I want my house to be the most efficient I can build including solar panels, floor heating, good windows and recycleable waste processes.

Wolf is right. This site has a community of people willing to help out. I'm all about SIPs and Radiant Floor heating. Both will pay for themselves in the first few years.
