Aloha, I remember running across this in Fine Homebuilding years ago and thought I'd share it here. http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/boston/green-ideas/building-with-beer-ne... I was prompted to do this because there was an interesting point in Season 1 about Fiji water brand being so wasteful. I had just read "Rubies in the Orchard" by the owner of Fiji water and their claim of being the only certified 'green' bottled water supplier. Puleeeeeeze.... So if they were to incorporate this idea, then maybe... As a Peace Corps brat that got to live green in Ecuador, I remember that as the highlight of my life and am eager to recreate that lifestyle locally and bring along as many interested parties as possible.

I just finished watching season 1 with the straw-bale house in Santa Barbara. What is the status of follow up episodes? Also, was season 1's house affected by the recent wildfires in SB? We had a huge fire that destroyed several homes in San Luis Obispo county over a decade ago and the only thing not burned was a straw bale bench! That sold me on the technology, but I find the rammed earth wall much more aesthetically pleasing. Looking forward to more episodes soon.
