Better view of some of the details...
The posts, again, were originally supports for a cow barn. They are solid as a rock, and talk about "old world charm..." they're really nice!
If we were to do this all over again, we would do the rafter tails differently! They are sooo beautiful to look at, but they took soooo long to make. They started out as large antique Doug Fir beams from a factory in Albany, NY! (So many stories with reclaimed wood, I love it.)
The North, West and Southern Elevations will one day have Pergolas for vines to grow on to provide shade in the summer months, that will die back and allow the sun back in, in the winter.
