Earthaven Green Home Project, Tivoli, NY

Many people notice the "Asian" influence in our design. I am 1/2 Japanese, and I wanted our house to be a hybrid of sorts, as well. Our design was inspired by Prairie style, and Japanese Farm houses. The clear red cedar siding has a 3" reveal and was made from wood that was going to be "scrap." The round window up top is in, what we call, the "meditation loft," and it looks out over the Catskill Mountains. The posts in the entry way used to be supports for an old barn.
