We started GreenTV to share our knowledge about going green. It has turned into a work-in-progress spanning more than 25 years. Each day, we strive to bring you the best of the best on going green.

We are not just “talking heads.” We are a self-financed, husband-and-wife team whose goal is to be a true one-stop green destination. That may sound like an ambitious goal, but we have a couple of decades of hands-on green living, building and renewable energy experience.

Our journey began in 1981 with a home in Yorklyn, Delaware that had been in the Lake family for generations. The house required complete restoration, which we tackled successfully, naming the project “Green Delaware”. The restored home showcased virtually every feature of today’s green houses.

In 2003 we started a green renovation of our home in Chesapeake City, Maryland. It was a four year journey, since we did about 80% of the work ourselves, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars. We incorporated many green building techniques as well as recycling (old copper pipes and aluminum siding) and reusing materials. The concrete blocks from the old chimney are now gravel around the storage shed and bricks from the wall in the old court yard are now the pavers for the beach bar. Be sure to check out all the videos and photos we've posted for this project.

GreenTV.com is a way for us to share our expertise and create an online green community. Today we are reaching out in ways that were unimaginable just a few years ago. Join GreenTV.com (it’s free) and share your green projects and ideas. As a member of the GreenTV community, you can also tap into some of the greatest green minds around for recommendations and help with your green questions.

Green is not a fad. Chances are you visited this green site because you are ready to make a change. We are committed to demonstrating that going green is within your reach. Need help going green? Check out our consulting services.
