I formulate historic paints and plasters. Simple, inexpensive, completely non-toxic, extremely durable & permeable, and unmatched beauty.
Formulas:
-For plasters--> clays, lime or gypsum with mineral pigments (reinforced with 5.5 oz. hemp/burlap mesh).
-For paints--> hemp or flax oil with plant dyes, mineral pigments and/or zinc/titanium/calcium carbonate (powdered limestone).
Typical store-bought paints contain plasticizers, dryers, siccatives, defloccuants, biocides, and a myriad of other synthetic chemicals that aren't part of the polymer bonds.
