Ecofabulous is a design oriented website dedicated to the union of style and sustainability. The founder of the site, Zem Joaquin also applies her eco-chic talents to Condé Nast’s House & Garden magazine as the official Eco Editor and to her regular monthly guest spot on the most popular Bay Area morning radio show, KFOG 104.5. Zem regularly contributes to various print and online publications, and she is frequently introduced and quoted as an industry thought leader and green design authority. Among her various television appearances, most recently Zem acted as co-host for episodes 12 & 13 of Building Green TV where she offers green building design expertise and advice. The shows will air in August/September 2007. A certified green building professional and long-time fashionista, Zem consults on eco-design projects for individuals and corporations, assignments can range from a spa to an entire furniture line. Her approach, mission and vision is inspirational and captivating as she is frequently engaged by leading corporations such as PG&E, William Sonoma Home, Pottery Barn, Visa and Whole Foods to lead mid level & senior management teams through tailored green strategy presentations and education seminars. When Zem is not writing for her blog, preparing her next monthly contribution to the magazine, or helping a company “go green,” Zem is committed to raising awareness about the environment through her position on the Board of Directors and San Francisco Committee Chair of Global Green USA, an organization founded by Mikhail S. Gorbachev focused on access to clean water and making green building affordable and accessible to all. Zem is also a Board member of Healthy Child, Healthy World, an organization dedicated to protecting children from harmful environmental exposures. Previously, Zem helped build Splendora.com and helmed the business development efforts. She is an alumna of Pepperdine University and has lived and worked in Milan, Paris and London. She currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two young children.
