Hey Nelson, you should check out this organization, the Sustainable Furniture Council, http://www.sustainablefurniturecouncil.org/. They were recently founded (about a year ago), but are doing a great job at organizing the furniture industry to promote the use of sustainable materials. I met them almost a year ago at the very beginning of the organization. They should be a great resource in sourcing all the materials you need.

I saw these really cool benches made out of wire mesh at JFK airport last month. They were suprisingly comfortable. I was determined to find out where they came from and who the architect or designer was that made them, the best i could do was find what seems to be the manufacturer of the actual mesh, i don't know if they made the actual benches as well.
