Interior Green Wall pics

In my last post I gave everyone the opportunity to do your due diligence....

Specifically we area a Green Technologies company specifically manufacturing and designing green roofs, green walls and accessories. We are based in upstate NY and service clients on a global platform. Through our 55,000 sf manufacturing facility and our primary 50 acre R&D / Growing facility we offer a wide range of options to include custom design and decor (Decorative wraps such as copper, brass, painted, or powder coated), custom dimensions and unlimited design options, we can even do concave and convex green walls and customized the depth of growth media to match the plant material for your green wall.......so don't be locked into a one dimensional product we offer unlimited design options! If your an installer or want to represent a company with unlimited options please contact us directly. The pictures included in this post are of a 250 sf interior tropical arrangment in low lighting conditions. The wall is custom fabricated using our standard 4" x 6"x 3" (depth) cells and custom stainless steel catch basin for irrigation. The Green Living Technologies (GLT) Green Wall was developed as an application to use on extreme sloped green roofs. It is now manufactured and marketed for both extreme sloped green roofs and vertical green walls. The green walls are made of a light weight 100% recycled aluminum and the cells provide superior drainage (unlike other living wall panels that have sitting water at the root level) and root migration abilities. This project was a planted in place system...... We offer 3 planting options:

1. Our P.O.D. TM (Plant on Demand) allowing for a pre-vegetated inserts that are delivered over 90% mature. We or you can hang the empty lightweight green wall panels and then insert your P.O.D. with the vegetation already grown.

2. We can plant in place as pictured.

3. We can pre-grow the plant material directly in the module in one of our many growing facilities.

Enjoy the pictures, it was great to see another succesful project! Please feel free to contact us we look forward to your feedback.

more detail needed

1) is there any type of plumbing or drainage system required for a vertical installation?
2) what type of maintenance is required for an interior vertical installation - watering, replacement, etc?
3) is there any way to get a sample to show a client who is interested in an installation in a commercial office?

thanks

I really like to know the

I really like to know the answers of above 3 questions.

Visit me as the "Green Wall Editor" at www.greenroofs.com

1) is there any type of plumbing or drainage system required for a vertical installation?
I can write a book on irrigation alone...keeping it simple, indoors on larger installations we require an internal drain simply from a safety perspective. To no fault of anyone we plan for the unexpected like a mechanical failure within the irrigation system. For example if a zone valve doesnt close due to some unknown the water will keep running and the drain will prevent a flood. The only thing our installers need is a common hose bib. Thats not to say we would not prefer a connection to a water collections system such as the RIT facility in Rochester NY utilizing a 15,000 gal cistern.

2) what type of maintenance is required for an interior vertical installation - watering, replacement, etc?
Our trained maint. techs are plant people to start with. The check list actually looks at plants last....(If you go to www.greenroofs.com and click on me the Green Wall Editor, go through the archives and I have a column on green wall maint) The first item of business is the structure and perimeter of the wall. Then we check the irrigation (The GLT system is the only system you can actually see the emitters operating without removing our panels, saving time and $ in maint) and then we address the plants.....We have roughly a 20 point check list our techs utilize.....If you would like a sample copy of the maint and warranty email me directly)

3) is there any way to get a sample to show a client who is interested in an installation in a commercial office?
You can utilize pics from our site....Due to popular request if we were to hand out samples our cash flow would be in jeopardy, you can purchase a sample and if the client provides a PO we will gladly double the price you paid for a sample as a credit.

panels

I`ve seen the panels close up and feel the soil will have a hard time being retained.

We are glad you are paying

We are glad you are paying attention to the workings of our panels.....your observations are clearly superficial and clearly caught your interest......Please allow me to help educated you.......

Our system is based on 2 key principles of gardening, but first please understand the panel structure itself. Our standard 2x2 panel is constructed of 24 - 4"x6" cells with depths ranging from 3" to 6". Each cell is constructed with our patented cell technology. The technology is clearly designed in realtion to the 2 key principles I mentioned earlier....

1. It allows for free water flow and unlimited drainage, unlike other green wall systems we do not retain water at the root level...this is clear verbage in some of others green wall panel.....sitting water is a direct cause of root rot.

2. Our cell technology allows for the root system to migrate in both the horizontal and vertical planes. This prevents root bound plants again an issue found in "others" system. The roots in combination with our green wall growing media retain the soil in the cells literally locking it in place.

Becasue we also have standard 3,4 and 6 inch depths we can maintain deeper rooted plants.........in fact our growing media is locked in by the plants so well we have been able to brag about our system being hit with 100 mph tornato and just recently a 5.8 earthquake on July 29th with both walls suffering zero damage.

I hope this helps and in fact I can provide pics of the root system growing from cell to cell....feel free to contact me direct...thanks again, the coments are what stimulates education and if you dont ask you wont know......

Go George!

We had some action on the site a few weeks ago related to Green/Living Walls, but nothing like this! This is the real deal!
