eco paint

As a contractor working with wall coverings and specialized finishes I have found that many of the "eco" paints are not that good. Part of the problem is the components that help with discouraging mold and mildew are left out of "eco" paints. Most modern paints are in the category of low VOC already and they have the mildew/mold discouraging additives. My experience is that the "eco" paints dry much slower and are prone to peeling if taped before allowing at least a week to dry. Milk paints and lime paints are really the best natural paints available in my opinion. They take a bit more work but are durable and can be tinted with powdered pigments, (zero VOC). In addition, the lime paint can be burnished to a velvety sheen.
