Tadelakt

I'm interested in sharing my experience applying takelakt-style natural lime plasters in American homes.

Tadelakt might strictly be interpreted as being only the lime plasters made from the limestones in Morocco, it's also more generally a style of applying natural lime plasters combined with a fine limestone or marble sand or dust, using polishing stones, and applying soaps or other polishes. It is a luxury finish, in a green material.

tadelakt formula

some info out there on how to apply tadelakt - very little on how to mix it.

what are the components and their ratios?

i live in argentina and there is a good amount of general masonry knowlege and a lot of raw materials, not a lot of prepackaged finished products. i would like to know if the components are available here that i can make the mix for tadelakt.

thanks,
stuart

I want to apply this Morrocan lime plaster to my interior walls -how to I find it, How do I apply it? how do I purchase it.

Tadelakt

Hello, I saw another blog on which you commented and now have found this. I am interested in possibly using this technique on a residence I will be remodeling sometime in the next year. The exterior of the house is stucco; the interior is drywall. Truthfully, I am also considering using Ralph Lauren's Candlelight application to the interior walls instead, which also seems to impart the kind of glow that you see with Tadelakt but which requires far less expertise to apply. I am sure that the finishes cannot really be compared, but these are the two things I am considering - but the exterior would most likely be tadelakt. Your thougths? Where are you located?
