Compare Central Vacuums

In previous posts I outlined the features to look for when shopping for a green central vacuum. 1. Look for power units made of recyclable steel 2. Look for power units that do not require paper bags 3. Look for units that can be vented outside to minimize the effect on indoor air quality Be sure to look at what Consumer Reports has to say about central vacuum systems. Consumer Reports on Central Vacuums

CENTRAL VACUUM DEALERS

IT SEEMS VERY ODD TO ME THAT THE ONLY CENTRAL VACUUM STORE REPRESENTED ON YOUR WEB SITE IS CENTRAL VACUUM STORES. ANYONE WHO HAS DONE RESEARCH KNOWS THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF THEM. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR THE OPINION OF SOME OTHER DEALERS AND SEE DIRECT LINKS TO THOSE SITES. I HAVE TO WONDER ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CENTRAL VACUUM STORES.

garbage posting

I wish you people contributed to the site as much as you have been complaining about it. I find some of the information that you say is advertising much more useful that your gripes.

debate

I actually appreciate the spirited debate. After all this is a community site, so I like it when the community enforces the ground rules. But I agree that those who are complaining don't seem to have contributed very much themselves.

We Just Want to Spread the News

I am continually updating the information on this Blog, and I know that sometimes it looks like advertising, but if you check out all the posts, you will find links to other sites as well. We have been in this industry for over 60 years and we believe central vacuum systems are an absolute must in any green building project. I am familiar with the brands I sell, and my website is filled with valuable information for the consumer. My #1 goal is to educate people about central vacuum systems. I know that this will benefit all of us in the industry. If it helps, I would love to recommend some other central vacuum companies with good websites...

Gary's Vacuflo in Portland,Oregon

State Vacuum in Tampa, Florida

Super Vacuum in New York State

no relationship whatsoever, Joy. For some reason our site has attracted the interest of several vacuum afficionados. We've removed some posts and warned the most recent one, but we're not yet at the point where we're going to delete all posts that have been made on vacuums. To your point, however, there can be a fine line between advertising and content, and when we feel that line is crossed we inquire whether people are interested in advertising on our site and issue a warning about self-promotional posts.

HARD TO BELIEVE

I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT YOU DO NOT SEE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE USER "RENEE" AND CENTRAL VACUUM STORES/IMPERIUM. UPON DOING MY OWN RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND OUT THAST "RENEE" IS ONE OF THE OWNERS OF CENTRAL VACUUM STORES AND THAT THE "IMPERIUM" BRAND IS A PRIVATE LABEL VACUUM LINE ALSO OWNED BY CENTRAL VACUUM STORES. SO ALL THE POSTS, BLOGS, AND IMAGES ARE BLATANT ADVERTISING AND SHE IS IN NO WAY TRYING TO HELP THE BUILDING GREEN COMMUNITY. I KNOW I MAY ONLY BE ONE PERSON COMPLAINING, BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE ALL THE USERS BEST INTEREST AT HAND. I WAS HOPING TO FIND INFORMATION ABOUT CENTRAL VACUUMS AND HOW THEY MIGHT HELP ME IN THE FUTURE WITH SAVING ENERGY AND SO FORTH, BUT NOW I FEEL I'M BEING STEERED ONE WAY BY A USER TRYING TO SELL SOMETHING. I JUST HOPE THE REST OF THE USERS AREN'T DOING THE SAME AND THAT THIS USER ISN'T BEING ALLOWED TO CONTINUE DOING IT.

yep, I wanted to make it clear that there's no connection between our site and Renee, but there is definitely a connection between Renee and at least one of the vacuum sites. Renee has recently committed to providing only objective content about the vacuums such as reviews, discussion about their green benefits, etc, not just marketing copy about products, and not just promoting her own site. She's on notice that it's perceived that the line is being crossed. If it continues, the posts will be removed. We're giving her the benefit of the doubt that she's more passionate about the subject matter than self-interested, but we're sensitive about the issue as well so are watching closely.

Glad to hear that more people are starting to react to certain blogs. I do feel though like I posted that Joy has hit the nail on the head. I do not see any other blogs reguaring central vacuums except Renee. Why is that? Not understanding why you put someone on notice and waiting for the line to be crossed. Isnt this your site? Gee I hope more people give me 2nd, 3rd, and 4 chances before reacting. I cant wait to see more people on this site with their views and suggestions.

LOOKING INTO THIS MATTER

WHILE I APPRECIATEALL YOU HAVE DONE LOOKING INTO THIS MATTER, I STILL STRONGLY BELIEVE THERE IS A LOT OF ADVERTISING GOING ON AT THIS SITE WHEN IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE HELPING PEOPLE. I WILL MOST LIKELY LOOK FOR ANOTHER SITE TO LEARN FROM.

ok Iris, thanks for swinging

ok Iris, thanks for swinging by. Keep it green! - maxmsf

looking into this matter

I agree with Joy that there seems to be some kind of connection and too much advertising being done. This site is suppose to help consumers like us and not to advertise their own website.
