Blackle Screen ShotHeap Media has launched a new initiative to conserve energy by creating an alternative version of Google's ubiquitous search screen called Blackle. Instead of Google's usual white background, the Blackle search screen features a black background with white writing. This idea stemmed from a January blog posting that hypothesized a black Google screen would save 750 Megawatt-hours per year. Pretty innovative idea for conserving energy! Visit Blackle, and check out the Building Green Store for more eco-friendly products and ideas.
