As a result, air infiltration through windows and doors will be targeted for further reductions. Air infiltration rate for many top line manufacturers are excellent and when you couple reduced air infiltration rates and advances in isulation (icynene) building envlopes are getting tighter and tighter and will become even more so.
Radon is a gas that is present throughout the United States but more so in some areas than others. It is recognized as the largest cause of lung cancer, even over smoking. Many homes in the United States today have Radon levels that exceed the recommended levels.
So it is becoming imperative that yu think about incorporating a Radon Mitigation System into you new home. The good news is that the systems are simple and not a very high expensive fix for a serious problem.
