This is a great idea, and should help harness more of the sun's light for practical use. Now, how about adding to this idea for a slam dunk: Develop a skylight that lets useful, visible light in while filtering out harmful wavelengths of light and uses these harmful light wavelengths to create solar energy which would be stored and then used to give off light at night. Not only are you harnessing the light energy falling on all those skylights worldwide for lighting during the day, but turning all those skylights into solar energy collectors. Now wouldn't that be something? It would be tricky, but completely do-able given new technologies. I think the first company to deliver that to the public will make a killing...
